What stood out most was DeRozan’s effortless integration into the Kings' offense. He and Domantas Sabonis worked the dribble handoff (DHO) to perfection, particularly in pick-and-roll situations. DeRozan consistently found open looks, capitalizing on Sabonis' screens to free himself up for mid-range jumpers, an area where DeRozan excels.
In just two quarters, DeRozan displayed a great understanding of the team’s system, moving seamlessly within the offense and adapting to his new role with ease. His chemistry with Sabonis was particularly promising, offering a glimpse of what could be a highly effective partnership throughout the season. For a first showing, it was an exciting preview of what DeRozan can bring to the Kings as they aim to build on last year’s success.
The Kings play the Warriors again tonight at 7pm in the bay.
